Foot Surgery Tomorrow

Just wanted everyone to know the last update that I will be having my 10th surgery tomorrow morning. Dr. Kammerlocker(sp) will be doing my left foot tendon transfer. It is going to be an outpatient surgery. We will have to be at OU Medical Center tomorrow morning at 6am. Please keep me and all of the surgery team in your prayers so God can continue to work his miracles. Hopefully this will be the last surgery and I will be able to walk normal again. I can't wait to wear real shoes again. Love to all of you.

Happy Mothers Day!!!!!!

I'm so very sorry that I haven't written in a long time. I have been keeping very busy. I was given permission to DRIVE again!!!!!! I can't begin to tell you how great it is to be able to get out !!! The grandsons asked me how in the world could I drive when I couldn't walk???? Then they even asked if when they come over should they bring their bicycle helmets to wear if we went somewhere??? I told them I was a very safe driver and I could drive with my brace and my cane.

I am now able to walk (at home only) without my brace or the cane. I have made great progress with all my physical therapy, it is very hard and I go 3 times a week. The doctor even released me to go back to Curves!!!! I do that on the days I don't go to physical therapy. I am so thankful to God that I'm starting to get my life back. Prayerfully and hopefully I will be able to return back to work in a couple of months. I'm really working on being able to walk normally. We are still dealing with my drop foot issues. The nerve to my foot was severed and my foot just hangs, I can't lift it up. I KNOW the God is going to heal it!! We just don't know if the Lord will do it through surgery or therapy. We are asking for prayers to know what direction God wants us to go.

I want to thank you each for all your prayers, I have felt them ALL!!!!! God has been so gracious and loving to me. Everyday we get to experience another miracle. Today for instance we were able to witness Lauren ( Andy's wife) being baptised. They are joining our church!!!! Tomorrow Peyton (Andy's 2 1/2 yr old daughter) will be dedicated at church!!!! The kids will come over for dinner and we will have an awesome time!!!! I'm so very thankful that they live here and we can get together and celebrate everything!!!! Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow!!! We are now leaving to go to the Dachshund Dash. What fun, go wieners!!!! Have a wonderful Mothers Day and know how very much I love and care about each one of you!

Healing, waiting, expecting

Hello to all. I will be going back to my knee surgeon in one week on March 12th and I am anticipating him to release me. He will refer me to a nerve specialist for my drop foot. I really do expect to have one more surgery on my foot so I won't have to wear the brace to walk anymore. We will see. The physical therapist is still coming to my house and I expect that I will be having to have someone take me to rehab. I have been doing my exercises faithfully. These pretty days it sure is hard to stay indoors. David took me and the dogs on a picnic to Arcadia Lake here in Edmond and it was beautiful spending time outdoors. Thanks for all the prayers and phone calls. I love to hear from everyone. Please call and come see me.

Post knee surgery

Hello to everyone again. I know it has been a long time since I posted my updates. I had my knee surgery this past Wednesday. It was at the OU Medical Center. It took 7 hours and they repaired my acl, pcl and lcl all at one time. I stayed all night at hospital and came home Thursday. David stayed by my side the entire time. It is amazing the amount of comfort that we can share together. I had no idea the pain was going to be so excrutiating after the surgery. I keep reminding myself that I wasn't able to recall the pain that I endured my past 8 surgeries. I pray for strength and bravery. Thanks for all the prayers.

First week at home

Praise God from whom all blessing flow. What a blessing to finally be home. It has been so incredibly awesome to be able to sleep in my own bed with David and dogs. The first day at home I overdid it and my left leg let me know that I needed to prop it up more and rest more. I have been doing that better now. Therapists are coming daily to my house and working with me on getting better. I have a routine I practice daily with nap time and work time.

Went to the doctor today and found out that I will be having knee surgery on Feb. 4 at OU Medical Center. I will be getting my new knee brace next week to help support my knee better when I move around and start walking more.

I sure have enjoyed seeing all my friends and family coming by to say hi at home. Please continue to call and come by as I tend to get lonely by myself. Thanks to everyone again for all your prayers.

Signing off now. Love, Jill

Going Home!!!

Hello to all. Hope everyone had a great New Year. Mom will be going home today. She is doing awesome and ready to go to her house. She will still be getting rehab from home now. The therapists will be coming over to her house. She did find out that she does have some nerve damage in her left leg/knee area. They are making her a special brace to wear so she can walk easier. She can maneuver around by herself. She has great upper body strength and can push herself in her wheelchair where she needs to go. She also uses her walker to stand and walk behind. She has a special boot that goes inside her left shoe to help stabilize when she moves about. She loves to hear from everyone so now you can call her at home. 405-478-5324. Mom and Dad's address is 14213 Middleberry Road, Edmond 73013. Thanks for all the prayers from everyone. She truly is a miracle from GOD!!!

Merry Christmas to ALL!!

Hello everyone. I know it has been awhile since I posted but mom is doing awesome. She is still at Mercy Hospital in OKC and in Room#259. I work in the outpatient pharmacy there so I get to go up and have lunch with her daily. It is so great to have my mom back and so close to home. Her rehab is going great. She has the physical, speech, and occupational therapy 4-5 times daily. She has made friends with all of the staff there if you can imagine that. She is able to get up and walk with the assistance of her therapist and her handy walker. She didn't realize that it would be so hard to train her feet to walk again. She is such a trooper. She is going to get her first pass to leave the hospital on Christmas Day. Dad is picking her up and bringing her to my house from 10am-4pm. We are so excited, needless to say mom is ecstatic. We chose my house because it is the closest and doesn't have any steps up to or inside of it. She is ready to get some fresh air even if it is freezing air. Please continue to keep mom and our families in your prayers. Go see and visit mom because she absolutely loves for everyone to pop in on her and say hi. Please everyone have a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed Holiday!!!
